Gary Speed Takes His Own Life


 

Health authorities say that suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the world. It has even reached the top 20 causes of death for all ages among countries. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about one million people kill themselves each year. The manager of the Wales national team, Gary Speed is no stranger to it; he ended his life at age of 42. During his career, he had always played as a great midfielder. He was someone who had it good and was not thought to be depressed, he may not even have filed a Zoloft lawsuit.

His death has elicited sighs of disbelief, not only from fans but also from close friends and family. He taking his life was the last thing on everybody’s mind. He left two teenage sons and his wife when he died. Fans are still at a loss. The life that Speed had led was a truly remarkable one. Hayden Evans, a talent agent and close friend of the family, said that Speed has never had any problems with depression. Louise, the wife of Speed, was first to find him hanging in the garage. The reason behind the hanging of Speed was not shared to the public. It was on the BBC1 Football Focus show where the footballer was last seen. The presenter on BBC1, Dan Walker, shared the information that Speed was nothing but that Wales played under him made them won four to one which affirmed his managerial skills.

The untimely death of Gary Speed has caused an outpouring of tribute for the late footballer. Outside the house of Speed and the places where he used to play, tributes from mourning fans filled up space and piled up. They brought flowers, jerseys, scarves and other memorabilia that they have of the footballer. As a sign of respect for the grieving family, friends and fans alike have asked the press to stop sensationalizing his death.
